Basic Course
CDL Class A - 160 Hours. The 160 Hour Basic Course at CDL America Inc. is designed to provide students with the essential training needed to obtain their CDL Class A license while building the skills and confidence necessary to begin a career in the trucking industry. As the program below our Intermediate Course, the Basic Course focuses on providing students with the minimum training hours required by the Secretary of State to obtain a CDL Class A license while still delivering quality hands-on instruction and real-world driving experience.
This program includes classroom instruction, observation, PTI hands-on training, yard skills training, road driving experience, ELDT theory training, and FMCSA compliance requirements. Students also benefit from flexible behind-the-wheel scheduling and one-on-one hands-on instruction to help ensure they receive personalized support throughout their training. In addition, students have the advantage of taking all three final CDL tests on the same yard where they practice and train, creating a more comfortable and familiar testing environment.
The Basic Course also includes the final behind-the-wheel exam, as part of the tuition. This course is an excellent option for students looking to meet all state and federal entry-level driver training requirements while receiving strong foundational CDL Class A training before entering the workforce.
